charm{story}

I really like scrapbooking but it seems that I spend more time on card making....I wonder why?
Anyhow, here is a page I made for my birthday. I had some ID photos from a charm bracelet I made for my Mom last year. The picture were all so precious, I kept a copy for myself. So, I named the layout "Charm Story".
The large photo is a crappy print from my printer. I'll get a real photo printed for my scrapbook,later. I just love this picture of me. {I am always behind a camera} The camera in this photo is very unique my husband picked it up at a yard sale, before we met. We don't know much about it but it is OLD. {must have known he'd marry a shutter-bug}
I used lots of rub-ons for this layout, and black velvet ribbon. {tres luxe} I also used my favorite colors: Teal and Lilac.
{material} patterned paper by Basic Grey. card-stock by SU! Rub-on by Daisy D's. Brad, ribbon and button from the nooks and crannies of my KraftNook.

Well, You may have noticed that I am very excited about my birthday! I did a little birthday shopping {with birthday money of course}. I ordered some stamp from Greeting Farm and Verve stamp. I ordered both today... so ... The race is on! Wonder which order will arrive first!

card{clip} w/ tutorial

You may remember I made this card for a splitcoaststampers sketch challenge. I love the way the card worked out it was just perfect. Now it is time for me to give my card to a dear friend my cards away seems to be the hardest thing for me. {I think that is why I Scrap-booking better...lol} I didn't want to hide it in an envelope. So, I came up with this card clip!

To make a Card clip...
I used:
a clothes peg. scrap paper. adhesive. embellishments and
glazing solution like Liquidglass/CrystalEffects
Here is how:
1. Take a scrap on the designer paper. Measure it to cover the face of the peg. I cut it slightly bigger than the face of the peg, for an over hang.
2. Smother the front of your peg with adhesive. I used a tape runner to do this. A couple of runs over the face of the peg did a good job.
3. Position the paper over the glue and press firm. Now for that slight over hang... you could file/sand it down but I just folded it down to surround the face's edge.
4. You will want to lay the peg on a flat surface for this. Take your Liquidglass/CrystalEffects type of glazing solution and trace the face of the peg following the edge of the peg.
This will create a wall to hold in the glazing solution.
5. Fill in the walls with the glazing solution and trace the outer edge of the wall as well. This will seal the paper so be sure that you are covering the paper and peg at the same time.
6. Embellish! I used buttons, but anything goes. I placed the buttons on just before the glaze solution dried but you could wait over night and then adhere your embellishments.

Et Voila!

Sketched{page}

I love scrap-booking! It is truly my favorite thing to do.
I found this great site called: Unscripted Sketches.
It was mentioned on Momiji's blog {Hollie}.
When I saw Hollie's sample, I could not resist.
Take a look, this is Sketch #25:
The Sketches are so perfect.
Well, I dug right in and scrapped 3 pages inspired by this sketch.
Only 2 ended up looking like the sketch so here they are.

It was so much fun! I had a great time making these pages.
What do you think ?

See you soon,

Handy Manny{card}

Have you every seen the kid's show Handy Manny?
Well ever since I got the Totally Tools stamps set from SU! I have been thinking that I could use it to make something that would look like Manny's tools. When I saw the color challenge over at Diva Coffee Design I created this! Each of the tools are colored to look like Manny's tools. It's a great card for a little boy's birthday, don't you think?

Sleep~over{loot bags}

Well today is Sleep-over day.
You may have seen the invitations I made for my daughter's Birthday sleep-over. Here are some of the items in the loot bags.
  • Candy bag with topper
  • Embellished note book
  • Wrapped Sparkly pencils
  • Wrapped Chocolate cookie bar
  • Hair clips on a handmade card
  • Handmade bookmark Clip
  • Music mix for her friends {not in the photo}
I try to "limit the loot" to small gifts. I don't like to put too much candy in the loot bags. Kids are always so excited after a party. A sugar high is just too much!
Have a great weekend,

birthday{giveaway}

I have so many birthday's in the next few week.
So I have been making some birthday cards.
For this bunch of cards I used the Splitcoaststamper's Sketch from this week challenge. It is the first time I have used there sketch and it was a great one.
I got this cute Biththday Princess from Hampton Arts yesterday and had so much fun coloring her in. I wish I had made this card earlier it would have been perfect for the Cinema challenge last week. The theme was "Twin Towers" and the challenge was embossing. For this car I clear embossed the image and the

decorative yellow edge is dry embossed.

Thank you {LOST,season3}

Hey all, I am turning into a wee bit of a LOST groupie. In the evening I can be found watching LOST while I craft.
I just started watching by DVD thanks to a friend in my husband's office.
I like to make a LOST theme thanks you card every time I finish a season. I did not get a chance to photograph the card I made after season 2 but you may remember my first LOST card.

{You can click on the images to see the card up close.}

To make this car I used the Stair Step Fold Tutorial from

the Splitcoast stampers site. The details are great and I love that a video is available for the little details.

Balmy Breezes SU! stamps, Cream Green, and Brown CTMH card-stock, jewelry wire, brads, twine brown and green ink.

sleep-over{invite}

As I said while back I have been bubbling over with creative energy! And these 41/2 X 41/2 post cards are the results for the overflow.

These postcard have a small door on the front that contains the information for the party inside. You would never know but the stamps I used are actually for a baby theme. This stamp set is Nursery Necessities by SU! My 8 almost 9 year old loves them and she is a very particular child. You would never know it is a set for newborns.

{Materials}
SU! green blue and lite blue card-stock, as well as patterned paper. Brads star paper punch and Stamps SU!

{old}book

There are something in life I just can not throw in the garbage. This journal is one of them.
It is the journal I wrote in the first year of my marriage. I love it! The thing I didn't love, was the cute-seey pattern that was printed on the front.

So today it got a new face.

To cover the book I cut 3 strips of patterned paper 5 X 12 inches. I glued the strips of paper directly on to the book. Starting with the spin then the front and back. By starting with the spin I could make nice clean lines when I placed the paper on the front and back.
{Materials}
epoxy sticker and patterned papers by My Big Ideas.

Have a great day!

mini{shutter}

Hey there my crafty friends,
I have been overflowing with creative energy. Here is the first of many crafts, it is a mini tri-shutter card.

Yes, I said mini!

Gotta love the little thing in life!

I started with the tutorial on splitcoaststampers from Bonnie. I used a base card of 4" X 6". To resize the card I divided the score lines and cuts in half. So, my score lines are at 1, 2”, 4” and 5” with cuts 1" in between 1 and 5. I was hoping to use this as a invitation but there is not much room for the information.

This size is perfect as a tag for a gift bag.
You will have to visit soon to see the invitations I made. {wink}

{materials}
designer paper & butterfly punch by Martha Stewart,brads, ribbon, scalloped square punch & stamp SU!

Have a great week-end,

Back to School

Around here it is the first day of school. Kids are both nervous and excited as they head back to class.
Today is not a big deal for my household, you see, your youngest is starting school next friday. That will be the day that School is a big deal!

You may have seen the double pocket cards. To make this one I used the tutorial. Of course details are all up to you! Here I used dementionals to pop out the Fhiona and liquid glass to accent the apple on her headband. This is also my first attempt with Copic markers. The whole world of Copic is new to me but ... interesting.

{materials}
Copic markers, designer paper by SU!, white, black ink, Fhiona stamps by yournextstamp, black and blue card-stock

Hope your kids are having a great day back to school.

Spooky{tag}

Here she is! Fhiona with a cute Halloween costume. This is a witch that you would love to see tied on a treat or with a note just to say : “Have a great day!”
I stamped some friends for Fhiona in the background. The spider has a tiny paper pierced trail leading up to Fhiona. The ghost is a simple white outline, like a ghost should be.

The colors used for this tag are from Dawn McVeys’ Raspberry Suite color Challenge #16. I love the rich palette Dawn always picks. She has a great sense of style.
{materials}
kraft and white cardstock. markers. white and brown ink. Yournextstamp Fhiona image. yellow grosgrain ribbon and brown satin ribbon. The tag was cut with the MM slice.

Have a great day,
Shaz

P.S. I {heart} comments.
